Padher Acquitted in Nithari Murder Case

In one of the nine cases the alleged culprit businessman Padher has been acquitted for want of evidence. However, the servant has been given the death sentence. The details are here. Hope justice is done in the rest of the alleged cases of depravity and beastliness in a serial murder case that shocked the nation.

Frankly, I didn’t know cases such as the “Silence of the Lambs” existed in India, too. The extent of man’s depravity!

  1. yeah, good to see some justice happening...I am thinking about those kids who had to suffer and lose their lives in such a brutal manner...does any punishment suffice for such an act? If you remember, there was another case of two sisters who had kidnapped 9-10 children from gateway of India over a period of time, and killed them...they both were awarded with capital punishment...the order was sent to Dr. Kalam when he was the president, but it's still lying on the president's desk...I met these two sisters when I visited yerawada jail in the year 2006...there was no remorse on their face...rather, they were staying there, working, eating food, watching tv etc all...are they being punished or leading a normal life? the only difference is that of bounds...earlier it was slums, now a well built structure...

sorry for the long comment, but I couldn't stop myself from putting across my feelings regarding this issue..

  2. Neha, quite contrarily, justice is yet to be done.

  3. some criminals deserve the death penalty. punishment should fit the crime. the thought of such depravity being "rewarded" by food, shelter and entertainment is depressing. now we have "indian frietzl" in the news for torturing and confining his daughter for over 15 years. and his punishment? similar to that of all the other monsters: life in relative comfort. i grew up hearing how great our justice system is, that if one guilty person got away is ok so long as one innocent person was not punished - something like this. strange
